Dhafer L'Abidine

Actor

“I didnʼt speak English nine years ago. Learning the language, getting into drama school and then getting my first English acting part represent a sequence of events that Iʼm really proud of. One of the biggest challenges as an actor however, is being judged on my appearance rather than on what I can do. A lot of people in our industry prefer to stick with what they know or are used to, and seem to stay on the safe side. Britain today is one of the most cosmopolitan countries in the world, I don’t think that is reflected in theatre, TV and film productions yet.”
