Theatre Madrasa in Turkey - welcomes performing artists from all over the world.

Theatre group Seyyar Sahne in Istanbul have been in touch with The London Hub.  They have been building a Theatre Madrasa in Sirince, Izmir.

Performers and students from Turkey and all over the world are going to have a splendid space for creating and learning in Izmir.  With its inner courtyard that can become a great stage, an amphitheatre on the hillside overlooking the courtyard, which is surrounded by colonnades, residences and halls of various sizes suitable for every kind of stage work, a marvellous place to leave its mark in history is being built as an architectural masterpiece.

The construction of the Madrasa was started in November 2011 and should be finished in June 2012. Madrasa will be hosting theatre camps for students and researchers during the summer time and plan to welcome performing artists from all over the world just in fall 2012. Theatre groups are invited to meet and join us and other performers and researchers in the Madrasa to create or share their theatrical work.

The London Hub and especially Europe Now attracts our interest in its partners' aim to 'develop their ideas, working models and market to benefit the mobility of artists, cultural products and maybe even more important – the discussion on our common European intercultural future'. This emphasis perfectly fits what we will try to do in the Madrasa.

In this respect, we invite you to join us in Madrasa whenever and however you want!
