Unspoken Voices is a new full-length dance work produced by Seeta Patel during her time as an Associate Dance Artist at Arnolfini, Bristol. The work is an abstract multimedia performance by three dancers exploring the relationship between Rama, Sita and Ravana - through referencing the Ramayana, Patel aims to explore what our contemporary relationship to the myth is, and its questions of duty, responsibility and fate. Patel employs innovative techniques to enhance the impact of the dancework and to engage the audience. Her very contemporary choreographic practice is informed by her background as a classically trained Bharatantyam dancer. The interview will enquire into the relationship between the different facets of her practice.
