In March as a follow up to the successful ‘Beyond Words’ tour by leading South African poets the British Council funded ‘Verbalized’ a tour of South Africa by young UK poets.
Verbalized is a unique collaboration between 10 UK & South African performance poets. Inspirational & exciting, full of rich soul stirring song & explosive lyrical injection. It is part of the British Council's New Work New Audiences, a long term cultural exchange program.
In October Verbalized the UK tour will be taking place. From the UK, curator Zena Edwards features alongside Khadijah Ibrahiim, Kayo Chingonyi, Dzifa Benson & Avaes Mohammad. From South Africa, featured poets are Mpho ya Badimo, Naima Mclean, Mbali Vilakazi, Masana Mulaudzi & Bulelwa Basse. Co-ordinated by Segun Lee-French.
